St. Martin's Press, New York, First Edition, First Printing with complete number, boldly SIGNED and inscribed by Sonny Rollins to the verso of the ffep, "Stay Healthy, Stay Happy, Sonny Rollins", with music notation and date of Feb. 2002. This is the first biography of the great saxophonist by the noted jazz writer, Eric Nisenson, also author of biographies of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Drawing on extensive conversations with Sonny himself, as well as many of his fellow musicians, the book is intended as an overview of a long and illustrious career. But fifteen years later, Sonny is still here, and at age eighty seven continues to perform with power and grace, reinforcing the author's contention that Rollins may arguably be the most influential of all jazz saxophonists. In black boards, spine ends gently pushed, else about fine, clean and unmarked; in a like dust jacket, with a slight smudge to the rear cover at spine. Rollins book signatures are uncommon. J2404
