Jazz At The Philharmonic, Original Vintage Concert Program, Third British Tour, March 1960, presented by Harold Davison in cooperation with Norman Granz. Cover illustration by David Stone Martin, program notes by Benny Green, original ticket stub from the concert of Saturday March 5 1960 at the Royal Festival Hall, London, is laid in. Granz had been touring in Europe since 1952, but the British Musicians Union didn't fully lift their ban on American musicians until 1958, so the JATP tours were still relatively new to British jazz fans in 1960. With JATP stalwarts Ella Fitzgerald and trumpeter Roy Eldridge, the tour also featured musicians of a more modernist bent, including saxophonist and clarinetist Jimmy Giuffre, drummer Shelly Manne and his Men, and guitarist Jim Hall. In original wraps, tightly staple bound, 10.5" by 8.25", [16 pp] b &w photographs, touch of panel and edge creasing, else about near fine, bright, crisp, Increasingly uncommon jazz collectible.
