Gunther Kieser (1930) is one of Germany's preeminent poster artists whose work can be found in the collections of major museums including, the Tokyo Museum, the Louvre and the Museum of Modern Art. He has had a prolific and varied career, during which his technically innovative, provocative and brilliant designs have kept him in the fore front of European poster art. Kieser is perhaps best known for his jazz and rock concert posters, and particularly for the work he did for the German concert producers Lippman & Rau from the 1950-80's, and for whom he effectively acted as in house designer. This is a striking example of a vintage Kieser jazz poster, designed exclusively for the Mulligan Concert Band's appearances in Germany, and scarce thus, particularly SIGNED by the artist. J1669
