Jazz At The Philharmonic, Original German Concert Tour Program, 1966. SIGNED in ink at their respective full page, b&w photographs, by an uncommon grouping of jazz luminaries: saxophone giants, Coleman Hawkins and Benny Carter, drummer Louis Bellson, trumpeter Clark Terry, pianist Teddy Wilson and by blues great, T-Bone Walker. Norman Granz ended the JATP U.S. National Tours after his eighteenth tour in 1957, but continued sporadically to produce European concert tours during the 60's and even into the early 80's. This tour featured nine great jazz musicians and as perhaps something of an anomaly, Texas bluesman Walker, the godfather of electric blues guitar and composer of "Stormy Monday", who influenced several generations of guitarists, from B.B. King and Chuck Berry to Jimi Hendrix.
In original stapled wraps, oblong quarto, 10" by 11", wraps are lightly soiled and rubbed, tiny tape repairs at hinge of centre page, else about near fine, clean and unmarked with no tears or creasing. Signatures in ink are near fine to fine without loss or fading. Striking b&w photographs by Rolf Ambor, text in German and English. Note that the autographs are all signed to full page photographs but several have been combined for the catalogue photos. A scarce jazz collectible with an unusual signature grouping, including some of the preeminent figures in jazz with the very uncommon autograph of blues great T-Bone Walker. J1443 [SOLD]
