Original Document, SIGNED by the iconic jazz singer, Billie Holiday. A single page, type written letter of agreement between the artist and Columbia Records, dated Dec. 26, 1940, and SIGNED by Billie Holiday in blue ink to the bottom right of the page. Also signed by her manager Joe Glaser at the bottom left, indicating approval of the dissolution of a prior agreement between the singer and the recording label in order to execute a new contract which had been signed on December 23, 1940, three days before this letter was written. In 1940 Columbia had revived the famous OKeh label for which Holiday, in just a few months time, would record "God Bless The Child", perhaps her best known song. Original Document Signed, 11" by 8.5", expected binder punch holes to top edge, with short closed tears at holes, mailing creases, else, near fine, clean, unmarked. Holiday's signature is fine without fading or loss. A rare vintage jazz collectible with one of the most sought after of all jazz autographs. J1438
