Storyville, London, 1971, First Edition. A comprehensive discography of the ground breaking record company, which during the 1920's, produced recordings in its 12000 series, by Ma Rainey, Blind Lemon Jefferson and an array of other blues artists, successfully marketed to the African American audience. In the late 20's Paramount also introduced the 13000 series 'Old Time Tunes', marketed to a white audience. Although very successful in the 1920's, Paramount struggled during the Depression, ceased recording in 1932, and closed in 1935. About near fine in original red cloth, with Paramount record label gilt stamped to top cover, no dust jacket as issued. Touch of rubbing to boards at hinges, spine ends and extremities, spine is slightly rolled, mild spotting to top and front edge, pages are clean, crisp, and tightly bound. A scarce title. J2201
