Horizon, New York, 1976, First Edition, with no other printings indicated. The third publication in Feather’s celebrated jazz reference series which, in the words of the author, were “each in their way autonomous”. The Jazz In The Seventies edition, beyond its updated biographical section of 1400 entries, included 200 photographs, an introduction by Quincy Jones, the best of Downbeat magazine’s Blindfold Tests, recommended books and recordings of the decade, an article on jazz education and a guide to jazz films, all of which were unique to this edition. In black cloth, mild rubbing to boards, light curl to top fore corner of text block, else about near fine, tight, clean, unmarked; in a like dust jacket, price clipped, with touch of soiling to rear panel, now in mylar sleeve. A valuable jazz reference, quite uncommon, with the difficult dust jacket in this condition. J1759
