Jimmy Dorsey, Original Columbia Records Recording Agreement, Typed Letter Signed, 1pp document on Columbia letterhead, dated July 8 1953, SIGNED By Jimmy Dorsey at the bottom left. An agreement which permits Columbia to release Dorsey's "Jazz Me Blues", on an extend play 45 recording, "Dance the Charleston" (subsequently released as Columbia EP B-1747), which also included recordings by Kid Ory, George Wettling and Turk Murphy. The celebrated Swing Era bandleader and saxophonist had been presented by Columbia as Jimmy Dorsey & His Dorseyland Band on a number of ltraditional releases in the late 40's and early 50's. After many years of familial feuding, in late1953 he rejoined his brother Tommy's band, with star billing. TLS, 1pp, onion skin, about near fine, usual punch holes and staple perforation to top edge, horizontal mail folds, mild edge creasing; the original autograph is fine in blue ink, additionally signed by a Columbia executive. Scarce vintage signed jazz ephemera. J1928
