Writer, literary scholar and authority on the Beats, Ann Charters is also a gifted photographer and this collection of her fine b&w and colour portraits of blues musicians spans more than a half century. With an introduction and commentary by her husband Samuel Charters, the celebrated blues archivist and author of many pioneering studies of the Blues, including the seminal Blues People, first published in 1959 and never out of print. In decorative brown and green cloth, spine is slightly cocked, light wear to spine ends and tips, else about near fine, tight, unmarked; in a near fine dust jacket, unclipped, light edge creasing and wear, spine ends are slightly compressed.
